She must have done something wrong...

This is Daisy.

Daisy is our 4 1/2 year old Labrador Retriever. My husband says she's rotten. My husband says she isn't worth the $5 we paid for her predecessor at the doggy pound. My husband says she DEFINITELY isn't worth the $250 and the AKC papers we have for her. My husband loves my dog. He says she is a smart girl who makes bad decisions. He also calls her the clingy blonde.

Daisy is a good girl. I love her dearly. Several times, when hubby's been out of town and my blood sugars have dropped, Daisy insistently wakes me until I go get help. She is my constant companion, napping daily at my feet. She's fun. She know lots of tricks. She's my buddy.

She has a guilty conscious, though. That doesn't always keep her out of trouble, but at least she tells on herself when she's done something wrong. Take this morning. See, when she's in trouble, she goes into timeout downstairs. Usually, when we tell her to go, she looks like we've beaten her, and begs not to have to go. She's kind of like a 4 year old kid that way.  This morning, Darren opened the door to the basement, and Daisy cowered over there and ran as fast as she could downstairs, and kind of huddled in the corner. We thought she had been a good girl, but when she tells on herself, we go ahead and put her in timeout.

We still don't know what she's done, but 4 minutes in the basement, and she's paid her restitution. My guess is that she was having bad thoughts, and decided to punish herself. What a goofball!
