We just had fun last night
I have spent too much time moaning over not having friends, that I haven't always taken the opportunity to look at the wealth of people God has put in my path. Take Scott and Christina. Their son, Jarrod, is Matthew's best friend. I mean, these two are peas and carrots. Tighter than any kids I've ever seen. Jarrod is 10 days older than Matt. Matt is the tallest kid in school. Jarrod is the shortest kid in 5th grade. Regardless, whenever those two are together, their heads are together plotting the next diabolical 5th grade boy scheme (ie, putting whipped cream in Emily's hand as she lay sleeping). Matt wasn't going to play baseball last year, until Jarrod told him he had to LOL. They were, for the second season, on the same team. And they had fun. Jarrod has two brothers. Quentin is a year older than Mikey. Noah is a year younger than Mikey.
Last night, we met them at Worlds of Fun. Emily was terrified at the thought of all those boys, so she invited her friend, and they took off the second they entered the park. As for the rest of us, Matt and Jarrod ran off together and the rest of us hung out. We had a BLAST! We rode ride after ride, laughed, and just had fun. We made plans to go to the Halloween Haunt...ADULTS ONLY. And we have plans for wine and a BBQ next Saturday night. Christina said to me, "It's rare enough to find people with kids the same age as yours. But when you like hanging out with those people, that's the jackpot!"
It just goes to show...friends can appear anywhere you look.
