A bit of a staycation

Since we had to cancel our trip to North Dakota and Canada, we were kind of bumming. But, we are going to have a bit of a STAYcation, instead. I'm sure you've all heard of Staycation. It's basically a vacation where you stay close to home.

Darren has today and tomorrow off work. Today, we went to Worlds of Fun. All day long. We had so much fun!  The kids ran off, so Darren and I had alone time. Then Mikey decided he wanted to hang with us, so Em and Matt ran around for a while. Around 8:00, we were hungry and tired, so we grabbed a funnel cake and went home. We got soaking wet on the water rides, rode the coasters, and actually had lunch at All Star Cafe. It was a great amount of fun, and I'm glad we did it.

Tomorrow, I hope we go bowling. I'm getting my hair cut and (big shhhhhhhh surprise...) Darren may be getting contacts. That's something beyond me belief! I'm actually looking up his vision benefits right now.

Saturday, my sister is THANKFULLY and UNBELIEVABLY taking the kids overnight, so Darren and I are doing something I have always wanted to do. We were going to get a room at Westin Crown Center, but the rooms were nearly $200. So we decided not to do that. I checked again today, and Orbitz was having a HUGE sale, and we were able to get the room for $111! So we're heading to the Westin, and probably hanging out at Power and Light, maybe having some yummy martinis or listening to some good jazz on the lawn. Or maybe we'll just have a nice dinner and enjoy being alone.

Next week, Darren's sister and her twins are coming into town and staying with us. We're heading back to the Funs next Wednesday. Darren says we're going to Rip Cord then. Woot!
