Oh what a lovely Summer day

We went to Worlds of Fun again today. Darren was worried that we wouldn't get good use out of our season passes, but I think we've paid for them many times over at this point. We even have it down to a system; we know what point of the park is halfway and easily accessible to the front entrance, so when we reach it, we know to eat lunch, then when we re enter the park, we go the opposite way. We seem to miss a lot of the crowds that way, but we almost always end up seeing people we know.

We have so much fun!  We know we don't have to ride every ride every day. For instance, Viking Voyager was closed when we went by. That's okay...we'll ride it some other time.  We hit the Finnish Fling just after lunch, and we decided it wasn't a good idea to ride that then.

Mikey's been a little gun shy on some of the coasters, but once he rode the Patriot last time, he's gung ho. He even rode the Boomerang and the Zulu today!  I put my back to the test and rode the Timberwolf, but my back can't take much of that jostling.

We had fun on picnic, too. When we take the Cruiser, we can set up chairs in our spot, and fix sandwiches on the table thingy. We learned some things. 1) bring wet wipes 2) plastic knives and peanut butter don't work well and 3) perhaps we should bring paper towels instead of napkins.  We have refillable cups, so we fill them with water during the first part of the trip, and soda just before lunch.

So, this has been a fun, bonding, and reasonably economic way to spend our summer. It's only June 17, and we've already been to one park or the other 5 times. Tomorrow, I'm taking Emily, her friend, and the boys to Oceans of Fun. We packed lunch, and have bathing suits and flip flops ready to go.

Here's to summer fun!
