Possible excitement in the Gallup household

My Grandma was head of PR for William Jewell College. My Mom worked in Student Affairs. My Uncle was head women's basketball coach. I am an alumnus. I have a long history at William Jewell.

When I was a little girl, I would often "go to work" with Grandma. I had my little office, a bunch of papers and pens on a table overlooking the Quad from the third floor of Greene Hall. I always wanted to work at Jewell, even when I was 3 years old!

After graduation, I was never in the right position in life to do that, though. I didn't live close enough, didn't have enough real life experience under my belt, etc. Then, when we moved to TX, I started my VA company. It was never meant to be a permanent thing. It was only meant to serve as a way for me to earn some money while staying home with the kids.  The business was very successful. I took it places I never imagined! We moved back to Kansas City (Liberty, actually, less than 20 yards from William Jewell) and I still kept the business because Mikey still seemed so young to have me away from home!

Then, the real estate market crashed. And I specialize in real estate. That hurt my company a lot. I had a decision to make. Do I move on to other specialties, or do I take a leap of faith, close my company, and apply for a job at Jewell?

I applied. And I got an interview last week. With a man I went to college with, and whom I kept in contact with. And I hope and pray the interview went well.  I hope to have a second interview this week. I really want to work, not only at the college, but sincerely in this department. It's Institutional Advancement and Alumni Relations.  I would walk to work!

So please pray. I have all sorts of emotions going through me right now. I want this position SO MUCH!  There is a second position that I would like to be considered for, as well, but they haven't called me yet.

Wouldn't this be exciting?
