Peace and quiet? Have you MET my family?!?
I'm supposed to get some rest. No, really, I am. See, Emily and I leave for our mission trip in less than 4 days. I would love to be able to get some sleep before then. That was supposed to happen this weekend. But, alas, we ARE my family...
Emily went to Great Wolf Lodge with Girl Scouts this weekend. NICE! Or so I thought. We'll get to sleep in. Because, let's face it, the boys are lazy and won't wake up until AT LEAST 10:00. So, maybe I can sleep in.
Whoops, Mr. Wilson't memorial. Set the clock for 7:30 instead. Of course, 6:00 am, Daisydoodle dog decides she NEEDS to go outside (and play). Grrrrrr...Back to bed at 6:20, but I can't sleep. Alarm clock rings and...
Gee I don't feel good. FINE! Maybe I'll just head back to bed and sleep instead. So I climb back in bed, crawl under the covers, and hear, "Mooooooom...What's for breakfast?" :::::::::::sigh:::::::::::: I wander into the woefully empty kitchen and dig out muffin mix and eggs. But I'm really not well by this point. Luckily, hubby offered to cook. Back to bed, intermittently awakened by well meaning but terribly misguided hubby, who brought coffee, muffins, eggs, and 7 year old son. I gave up. Woke up. My day began.
Wandered downstairs to start gathering what I need to pack. Got sidetracked (hey, I'm a Mom, that happens). Ended up taking all of the bagged newspapers to the school recycling bin. Then we cleaned the basement a bit. Then I found what I needed for the trip. Discovered that my air mattress had a slow leak, so added that to my shopping list. And shoes for Em, and hand gel and...well, I'm poorer now (but I did get one of Emily's Christmas presents out of the way).
Came back, picked up Emily from the Girl Scout event, and came back home where we SERIOUSLY got serious about the packing. Well, the laundry for the packing anyway.
I think we can get it done. I hope so!
We're off to Matt's party now. Wish us luck!
