Just chillin

This has just been one of those wonderfully rewarding and lazy weekends so far. I'm having fun.

Last night, for the first time in YEARS, I was able to go to a scrapbook crop. The sad thing is that my CIS crop tote got caught in the messy spring flood, and is completely mildewed and moldy.  I am really sad to have to get rid of it. My Pappa was there when Darren gave it to me, and we have pictures of me absolutely crying in glee when I got it.

I met a group of women who welcomed me into their circle with open arms. In fact, we have plans to meet up again!  They know each other because they attend the church where Darren and I were married. How cool is that? I finished 5 1/2 pages from this year's Disney trip. I think they're pretty good!  I ended up spending just $17 overall...not bad!  I'm really looking forward to the next time I can go crop. In fact, I bought goodies tonight.

Last night, Mikey spent the night with his friend, Joey. Joey has a nature center in his room, with turtles, frogs, fish, etc. Joey is also the little boy who gave Mikey a fish for his birthday. Anyway, this time, Mikey came home with two bullfrogs and a toad. They are now taking residence in the aquarium once inhabited by the hermit crabs. The neighbor kids were excitedly chasing down crickets for the frogs's dining delight!

Our friend, Lexi, had a birthday party today. It was a swimming party at her subdivision. Mikey was invited, but Em tagged along to help. Sometimes I think Lexi's mom forgets that Em is MY daughter! She wants Emily for herself!  Honestly?  I love that and I encourage that because Lisa has been my friend for many, many years. Anyway, we got Lexi one of those Build a Bear things from Target. We normally wouldn't spend that much money on a kid's birthday, but this is LEXI and we love her like she's one of our kids!

Matt started soccer practice today. He is on the same team as his friend Michael, who is in his cub scout den. I guess he did really well! He's very excited to be on this team. Mikey opted out of soccer this year. He'd like to try his hands at basketball instead.

Tonight, Emily and I saw HAIRSPRAY!  Okay, remember that she and I danced to numbers from Hairspray in the Dance for the Cure. Anyway, the movie was a HOOT!  When Edna first came on, I leaned over to Em and said, "Do you know that's Danny from Grease?"  She was shocked!  It was hilarious! The theater was pretty empty, so we got to sit in a great location. We were tapping our feet and really enjoying the music. The movie was really, really good. The gal who played Tracy has a future in the biz! Michelle Pfeiffer played the perfect...well...you know. Zac Efron was dreamy ::::::::::sigh:::::::::::::::::: ACCORDING TO EMILY, NOT ME! It was really a good movie, and I'm glad we got the chance to go. Next up, I'd love to see The Nanny Diaries. I loved that book, and I love Scarlette Johansson, so it's high on my MUST SEE list.

While the girls were at the movies, the boys went to Blue Springs and watched cousin Jacob race his BMX bike. I guess he did really well!  Darren said that he ran into a couple of kids I used to babysit. I kind of wish I would have gone. Nah...we had fun. I'll go another time.

Next weekend, we're camping at Basswood Resort for Labor Day weekend. I've wanted to go there for a while. We haven't had the camper out yet this year, so this is going to be great. Darren finally got the electricity running out to the camper, so we should be able to get it cleaned and ready to run for our big weekend next week.

I'm going to snuggle with hubby now. I hope you all have a wonderful evening!

First, let me say that I like the fact that I don't have to click on each indiv. entry to read it! Thanks!

Second, I want to see "Hairspray" but I want to preview it first...and M1 danced to "Mama I'm a Big Girl Now" last year - that was the performance troupe number she filled in for the girl who was gone.

Third...you're not the only mom who has a Zac Efron crush
