Taps

"Day is done
Gone the sun
From the lakes, from the hills, from the sky...
All is well
Safely rest
God is nigh...."

I love Taps. I find myself humming it at the end of busy days. Today is NO exception.

Day is done.
(everything I have to accomplish in my day has been completed. Yes, I have a list of things to do tomorrow, but as of right now, when my day is finished, I have nothing to do. Tomorrow is a fresh, clean slate).

Gone the sun
From the lakes, from the hills from the sky
(There is nothing quite as beautiful as the oranges and pinks in the sky as the sun sets).

All is well
(God has taken care of me, my family, my friends, my needs, and most of the time, my wants. All is well. It is good)

Safely rest
(Now I lay me down to sleep...I can close my eyes because God is taking care of me).

God is nigh
    (That says it all).

Today has been so incredibly busy, I had to stop doing some things. But that's okay!

I started Weight Watchers today. Praying that I can stick with it, and that it will work. I'm not nearly as confident as I should be.

I went to lunch with Sherilyn today. We walked up to the college, saw one of my former professors (and STILL somebody I care about), ate lunch in the Cage (just like the good old days), shopped in the bookstore (and make friends with one of the workers, another alumnus), walked to the theater, radio station and newspaper offices (where Sherilyn and I spent many, many hours when in college!) and just had an all around great day. We are going to do this more often!

Picked Emily up from school. She needed to bring her rented baritone home. I sent the check yesterday. She can't take it on the bus. I can't believe she remembered to come home with it today! I half thought she wouldn't!

Signed us up for dance. I'm taking tap. OMG. I'm also taking adult. Matt's taking hip hop 2. Em's taking cheer, tap, modern, ballet 4!, jazz and hip hop. And all her classes are Monday or Tuesday. She and Matt are in Hip Hop together.

On the way home, saw the group of women from our church. WHOOPS! I forgot it was Ladies' Night Out. Emily left with them.  I dropped Matt at home. And rushed up to meet the ladies at dinner.  We then walked all over the Square, shopping and having a wonderful time of community. It was so nice!

I didn't get to work out at Curves today, but there's always tomorrow.
