So many decisions...

Emily and I are going on our first ever mission trip in November. We're going to Puento Penasco, Mexico to build a house for a family. We will be going with our church friends Holly and Will Mills, Holly's son Sam, Pastor Glen and his daughter Christian, Becca Pendarvis, Don Ledford, Krista and Ryan, and Carrie and John Sandberg. Lisa had signed up to go, but that's the week of a big project at work, so she can't go this year. I am really feeling blessed to be allowed to go on this trip, because I've never been allowed to go on a mission trip in the past. I always had people who were scared of my diabetes, and wouldn't let me go.

Dance sign ups are here, and we are in the midst of deciding what to take. Em is taking cheer, modern, jazz and ballet. Matt's taking hip hop. I'm taking adult. I want to take tap. Darren wants me to take tap. Mandy wants me to take tap. I'm scared to take tap. Emily wants to take hip hop and tap, but the money train ends somewhere, you know???

I have decided to move forward with my health. I was doing so well with Curves before my surgery! I've now been cleared, so today was my first day back. It felt SO GOOD! It didn't hurt too bad, but I am not nearly as in shape as I was when I had to quit.  Also, my endocrinologist has been forcing my hand, so I finally signed up for Weight Watchers today. I have to learn how to eat again. My meetings are on Thursdays. I'm scared.

I decided to take a more domestic track these days. I just inadvertently typed TRAP instead of TRACK. What a slip! Anyway, I am truly helping the kids with their chores these days. Today, I washed a load of dishes for Matt (he still has to put them away and clear the counters). I washed and dried a load of laundry for Emily (she now has to fold and put them away). I have emptied all of the trash cans into a bag for Mikey. He now needs to tie the bag and put it downstairs.  I also made a family favorite...veggie beef soup! I always surprise them by adding something new. Today, I've added rotini noodles.  We've actually eaten dinner at home every day this week!

Tonight is busy. Emily's back to school night is tonight. No kids allowed WOOT!  Darren and I get to follow her schedule and meet her teachers. Tonight is also cub scouts for Mikey. Luckily his leader is going to bring him home. I feel bad for missing the meeting. I'm the assistant leader. Yes, that's ASSISTANT, as in I DON'T HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING!  It's a big step for me.

So, those are the decisions and goings on at our home. Hope you enjoy being a part of our day!
