We survived!

We survived First Day of School 2007!

Gosh, it was really quiet around here today!

We woke up early and ironed clothes. I fixed biscuits and gravy for breakfast. Emily primped a little, then walked out the door. Ignore the date. My time stamp on my camera is broken.

We walked her to the bus stop, but since it was just middle schoolers on the bus this year, we felt more comfortable leaving her there, with friends whom we've known well, for a long time. She had a very good day at school. She enjoyed seeing her friends, and has already invited several over tomorrow night to see "High School Musical 2." Her teachers are great. She is a very happy little girl.

Next, the boys. Now, they're two of a kind, and it's a little more work getting them out the door. Once we found all clothes, socks, necklaces (don't ask), shoes, and lunches, we needed to rush out the door. But not before Mom snapped this:

Aren't they innocent looking?!?  Looks ARE deceiving!

Matt really enjoys his teacher. Mr. H gave them a calendar so that they know what they're doing each day. They are really buckling down and doing a lot of "REAL" work this year. His lunch is pretty late, unfortunately, but they're allowing them to take snacks.

Mikey's teacher, well, let's just say we LOVE LOVE LOVE her, and we always have! Mrs. H is a family favorite. She gave Mikey his homework. She knows to email me if she needs anything.

The bus was a little late this morning. School starts at 9:05, and the bus didn't get there until 9:01. WHOOPS! Everything was a little crazy, being the first day of school and all.

We had all kids' dinner eaten, dishes done, chores done, homework done, clothes put out, prayers said, and in bed by 9:00. We're starting to feel like professionals!

In other news, an old client has moved into a different career, and has asked me to help with her marketing. So, that helps financially. I still have a lot of work to do with my other client. I haven't heard from client 3 this month. I'm thinking that may not be happening much longer.

Also, my foot is really hurting. I got another ulcer on the bottom. I haven't had one for over a year, so I'm pretty disappointed. Just another reason why I MUST have pedicures! I've been adjusting how I walk, so as to not put pressure on the sore, and now, I've snapped something in my achilles area. I'm taped with Ace bandages now, but dang, do I hurt! I can't walk very well at all.

I zonked for a nap this afternoon, but despite that, I'm exhausted. If you notice, this post is coming BEFORE midnight. Am I turning away from becoming a night owl?

Oh, and VICKI G, if you are reading this, here's a SHOUT OUT to somebody who understands me so well LOL  I was cracking up reading your blog today!
