Friday Felicity Unusually

I'm taking an unusual tactic with my Friday Felicity.  I'm going to celebrate last night.

Hubby had been out of town for several days, and we were all kind of in a weird place missing him. We just kind of felt unfinished. He got in late Tuedsay night (really, Wednesday morning around 1:30), and was in the office before the kids woke up, so they really went a long time without seeing him.

He emailed me yesterday, "Let's do something fun tonight!"  We decided not to tell the kids.

After Matt's hip hop class, and Emily's cheer class, which we attended because it's Parent Watch Week, we decided to go to the batting cages. WOO HOO!  When we got there, it was closed. Shoot.

So we went to the bowling alley instead!  And we had a BLAST!  We ate greasy tacos and cheese fries. We were in the alley next to some of Emily's friends, and we kind of had a friendly competition going. We are a highly competitive family, so we made side deals, and cheered and jeered. We had a BLAST!  We laughed harder than we have laughed in months.  By the second game, the kids were bowling "tricks." They would sit on the ground and kick the ball, or roll it backwards between their legs. Except for Mikey, most of the time. He's VERY competitive. He's, of course, the one kid who bowled a strike, so he had to keep airs, I guess. Daddy won the first game, and Mommy won the second.  I can't tell what hurts more this morning; my back from bowling, or my tummy from laughing!

This is just a reminder to make time to laugh. Appreciate your life, your friends, your family. Celebrate the moments!  Life is really kickin' good.

"unfinished" is exactly how I have felt since May. Yep. The perfect word.

Glad you had fun! Sorry I missed your phone call.

Thanks for stopping by my site. I started bleaching my hair when I was about 16 and it was my mother's idea. I was a blonde baby and I think she was disappointed when it turned dark. It did give me a boost. I was very shy. Highlights is a better idea, but they didn't have those then. It sounds like you and your family had a fun time. We're having a family get together tonight for my dd's birthday.
