I want. I wish. I need.
I hear myself whining a lot. "I want a new handbag." "I wish I had that dress." "I need a new pair of shoes." The reality is that I have plenty of purses, dresses really aren't my cuppa tea, and I have plenty of shoes.
I remember 3rd grade social studies, when Miss McMichael told us that people had three basic needs: food, clothing and shelter. I take that a step further to say that we need faith, love, and in some cases, MEDICATION (smile). If you take it down to the bare bones, most of us have Miss McMichael's basics. We may not eat filet mignon for every meal, or have Hollister shirts, or live in the ritziest neighborhood, but chances are, we're doing okay in this aspect. I am blessed to also ahve faith in a God who sent His son for my sins, the love of a husband, children, family and friends, and my insulin. In the barest sense of the word, I have everything I need.
I am also blessed, because God has given me so many of my wants. I hav been entrusted to raise 3 amazing children. I live in a dream home. I gave my hubby a Porsche for his birthday. I have a successful business. Life is good for me.
But still...I'm human. I will always say, "I want those fabulous shoes." "I wish we could go to Italy for vacation." "I need a GPS." I know God will answer. He always does.
John 15:7-8
7If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. 8This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
